DermaBand

A low-cost, multimodal wearable designed to monitor changes in skin condition.

In a nutshell

I developed DermaBand to explore whether meaningful information about skin could be captured through an accessible wearable rather than complex laboratory equipment. The system combines paper-based pH colorimetry with skin-conductance sensing, bringing complementary chemical and electrical indicators together in one device.

I designed and fabricated the prototype, developed the experimental testing protocol, and collected and analyzed sensor data to evaluate its performance, usability, and limitations. The project later became the basis of a full research paper accepted for publication in Springer conference proceedings.
